Blood Bowl!

Here are my two finished Blood Bowl teams from the original 3rd edition boxed set (I think it's 3rd edition).

Plastic miniatures that I always thought were kinda goofy, but they still have that early 90s "charm".

I consider these "gaming pieces" that don't warrant a lot of special attention while painting so I used this as an opportunity to try out my new Series D drybrushes from the Artis Opus Kickstarter.

I was very pleased with the result.  Very light, soft drybrushing, with some various glazes to blend it all together. Mostly on the orc flesh, orc armor, and human blue uniforms.  Other areas were painted standard layering, wash, highlight method but not too much effort.

A few weeks ago I finished these Tree Revenants.  Back when Age of Sigmar was first released (after I got over the initial shock and annoyance), I thought the Stormcasts design was pretty cool, but it was the Tree Revenants that were the first new AoS miniature design that made me go "wow - those are awesome."

Many years later, I bought and painted a box.   The end result is pretty nice, but boy these were a pain in the neck to paint.  So many little thin, spindly parts, and it was very hard to get to all the areas of the model.  And since these newer GW designs are weird multi-part kits that only fit together "one way", I struggled to figure out how to break them down and paint in sub-assemblies so I fit them together and paint them all at once.

Anyway, here's a quick picture.  Not a great photo but good enough to document that I completed the unit.

Probably the only unit of Tree Revenants that I will ever paint which is a shame because I really like the models.
