Old School Goblins

I've been slowly collecting old, out of print (oop) goblin figures from the mid 80s/early 90s. Mostly Citadel and Marauder, with a few Iron Claws thrown in there.  I've also found some really nice Reaper, Grenadier and Heartbreaker goblins, too. I'm going to paint them all up and combine them into one giant unit of "common" goblins with a variety of weapons, whatever they have (axes, swords clubs, bows, who cares).

Here's the first 4 that I've completed. Great sculpts, easy to paint because each one has nice character to it.  The spearmen still needs a shield; I'll get to that later.

Poor lighting, but both pics can be zoomed in for better detail.

  1. Love the old school greenskins! That archer on the far left has some character! What kind of shields will you be using?

  2. thank you sir. archer on the left is Citadel Bow 53 and second archer is Citadel Bow 8 from the 1991 Citadel Red Catalogue, both designed by Kev Adams. I'm still on the hunt for Bow 22 and Bow 51. The Spearmen is Marauder Goblin MM30/1, second goblin on the row, from 1989 by Ally Morrison. The most surprising guy is the goblin with the stone hammer. He's part of the random crew included with the Goblin Battle Chariot also designed by Kev Adams. He's listed as Hammer MD6/O. Considering that we won an auction on eBay for 2 of those chariots, we may have two more of that guy on hand!

I'm going to use an old 1990's era round goblin shield with a skull and crossbones. I think it was included with the Warhammer Fantasy 4th edition boxed set.
